BREAKING: Trump Tried to BLOCK Canada’s $6.4B Bridge — What Carney Did Next SHOCKED the U.S.! …..

The nearly $6.5 billion Gordie Howe International Bridge between Windsor, Ontario and Detroit, Michigan is close to opening, but a new controversy arose after Donald Trump threatened on social media to block it, claiming the U.S. was being taken advantage of. In reality, the project was funded by Canada under a 2012 agreement that gave Michigan 50% ownership and future toll revenue rights without upfront construction costs.

The deal was publicly approved years ago, received U.S. federal permits, and even gained support during Trump’s first term, including customs funding he signed into law. Former Michigan governor Rick Snyder and other state leaders pushed back, saying blocking the bridge would hurt Michigan workers, auto supply chains, and trade efficiency — not Canada.

The bridge will handle about 8,000 trucks daily, reduce transit times, and remove the current single-bridge bottleneck dominated by the privately owned Ambassador Bridge. Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney responded calmly, reaffirming the joint ownership structure and economic benefits.

Bottom line: construction continues, agreements remain valid, and the bridge is set to become a major new trade corridor between two deeply integrated economies.
