Attorney General Pam Bondi is facing serious allegations involving a $127 million Naples waterfront mansion purchased through a shell company linked to a lobbying firm her DOJ was investigating.
According to a 73-page complaint filed by Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington, $4.2 million moved from a Cayman subsidiary of Crescent Meridian Partners — a firm under DOJ investigation — to a Nevada LLC. Weeks later, that LLC funded the down payment on the mansion, which is controlled by Bondi’s husband through a trust. Shortly after the purchase, the DOJ investigation into the firm was paused and later closed with no charges.
The complaint includes wire transfers, corporate filings, emails, and property records. It also notes the home was purchased for $38 million above its assessed value. After the filing went public, emergency court motions were filed to seal related corporate records.
Bondi denies wrongdoing, calling the complaint politically motivated. Supporters argue there’s no proof of corrupt intent and that the property is legally owned by her husband. Critics say the timing and financial trail raise serious conflict-of-interest concerns.
The DOJ Inspector General has opened a preliminary review, and congressional oversight hearings are expected.
