Shakira has ‘no time or space’ for new love: ‘My plate is already full’
Shakira (49) is too busy to concern herself with love. The Colombian superstar said this in an interview with the British newspaper The Times. According to the singer, her priorities currently lie elsewhere.
My children are my priority
The 49-year-old singer was married for years to former Spanish footballer Gerard Piqué, with whom she had two children. The couple separated in 2022. Four years later, Shakira says she has no ‘time or space’ in her life for romance. “My plate is already full. My children are my priority. And my career.”
The Colombian singer, who scored major hits like Whenever, Wherever and Hips Don’t Lie , says in the interview that she feels she is at the peak of her career. The singer performed for 2 million people in Rio de Janeiro this year and is currently on a successful world tour. She also recently released the new official song for the FIFA World Cup. At the final, she will perform during the halftime show, just like Madonna and BTS.
Shakira further stated that it would be ‘a dream’ to collaborate with Taylor Swift. In the past, she created the hits Beautiful Liar and Can’t Remember to Forget You together with Beyoncé and Rihanna .
