Jasmine Crockett Introduces STOP TRUMP Act to Block DOJ “Anti-Weaponization Fund” Payouts

The Trump administration recently established a nearly $1.8 billion “Anti-Weaponization Fund” at the Department of Justice to compensate individuals who claim they were politically targeted by the previous administration. Critics have called it a taxpayer-funded rewards program for political allies.
In response, Rep. Jasmine Crockett has introduced the STOP TRUMP Act (formally the Stop Taxpayer-funded Reimbursement for Unlawful Misconduct by Presidents Act) on May 19.
The bill would ban the use of federal funds including the Judgment Fund to settle or pay claims related to a sitting president, their family, political appointees, or January 6 participants alleging “government weaponization.” It would also void any existing payout agreements and authorize the recovery of funds already distributed.
