Ramses II (1303a.c.-1213a.c.) is often remembered as the greatest and most powerful pharaoh of the New Kingdom, which in turn is the peak period of Ancient Egypt. He lived to be 90 years old, ruled for 66 years and had 152 offsprings. He was said to be red-haired and measured 190cm when he was alive.

He was buried in a special tomb in the Valley of the Kings near Thebes, but his body was later moved to a secret royal mummy cache. It was found in 1881! His mummy was recently on display in the Egyptian Museum in Cairo, and now it’s in the new Grand Egyptian Museum.
