Amidst the jagged rubble of Syria, a 7-year-old boy has become a man too soon. After a bomb claimed his parents, he now stands as the sole protector of his 2-year-old sister.
With no home and little food, he scours the debris to keep her safe, his small hands calloused by a war he didn’t start. He is a hero born from ash, a child raising a child in the shadow of death.
